Tulum, Mexico & Winter Hiatus

Hello! You might have noticed that I took a bit of a winter hiatus. This tends to happen after the intense whirlwind wedding season winds down. It’s a great time for me to recharge and refocus – and I am incredibly grateful for the break.

Jake and I took a trip to Tulum, Mexico in February and had an amazingly relaxing vacation. We flew into Cancun, rented a car, and made our way to La Vita e Bella for six nights in paradise. Tulum is an unbelievably beautiful place! Our private beachfront bungalow was simple and rustic – because, let’s face it you don’t need much when you are 40 feet from the ocean. After our stay in Tulum we headed back to Cancun to stay with Jake’s mom, Mary and David at their all-inclusive resort. It was so awesome to all be in Mexico at the same time! This was a trip we’ll never forget and we cannot wait to visit again. Below are photos taken with my iPhone and processed with Instagram, my Pentax 35mm, and of course the 5D Mark II.

But now my winter hiatus is over. I’ve got a feature in Minnesota Bride to show you and a few upcoming shoots to share, and I’m really looking forward to this summer.¬†Also, I cannot wait to start shooting with the new amazing 5D Mark lll!
