Jesikah and Jon were married in the backyard garden under an arbor full of grapevines. A perfect setting with just 20 family members (including a new baby!) to be witness to their marriage ceremony. I felt very honored to spend the day with them and be a part of such an intimate celebration.

Jesikah is an amazing artist and she painted all of the wedding invitations and made all the floral arrangements – including her wedding bouquet on the morning of the wedding! Congratulations to the very happy couple and enjoy the photos!

When Jesikah turned around with her dress fully zipped and jewelery on — her sister Gwen and I both gasped at the same time! Jesikah looked so beautiful we were both speechless. I could hardly focus my camera!  I love the photo of her on the left – even though it is not perfectly focused, I think her expression is priceless. Sometimes mistakes work out!

Jon and Jesikah were naturals — they really enjoy one another and had fun with our photos!

They fell in love on bikes so we didn’t think the neighbor would mind if we stole their bike for a few fun shots.

I think the best part of getting married at your parents home is hanging out in the kitchen with the AC! Seriously! It felt so nice to cool down for a bit!

Cocktail hour and dinner at Forepaugh’s in St. Paul. Such a historic building — it sorta looks like Jesikah’s parents home, don’t you think?

I met up with them later that night at the Chamber’s Hotel. They had invited friends to join them for drinks and dancing! It was such a lovely night!

Jesikah made her bouquet that morning with flowers from the downtown St. Paul Farmers Market — isn’t it gorgeous?!

Jake met John while in graduate school at Iowa State, and I believe they bonded over their mutual love of robotics. I think the first time I ever met John was in the Robotics Club lab on campus! We all became friends shortly after, so when they asked us if we would photograph their wedding we were so pleased!

Their ceremony was Quaker-inspired, with a ring warming and contribution part of the ceremony. The rings were passed in silence to each person, and everyone said a silent blessing for John and Brenna. Also, during this time friends and family were invited to tell a story, offer their advice, or wish their congratulations to them. It was truly one of the most thoughtful ceremonies I have ever seen.

When I spoke with Brenna during the months before her wedding, she repeatedly said that the most important thing to both her and John was that their friends and family would all be together, and what could be more important than that?! I agreed.

The kids lined up for the popcorn maker and games in the yard and everyone enjoyed a good old-fashioned BBQ for dinner with pies for dessert. I had a piece of the BEST pecan pie I have ever tasted (made with real Georgia pecans)! There was also a piñata, three-legged race, and dancing on the lawn late into the night!

Brenna was so great all day — she was very present and taking it all in. One moment she would be cracking up and the next she would be brought to tears. She was so sweet!

Beautiful beyond words…this is one of my favorites of just the vineyard.  It looks like a watercolor to me.

Jake took this shot of the rings, and I just love how he used the old curly vines. John’s ring had Brenna’s fingerprint inside and Brenna’s had John’s fingerprint inside.  I thought it was lovely.

Brenna looked gorgeous getting ready with her girlfriends — just look at those eyes!  Her headband was made from her mothers veil.

John was looking very handsome as well!

Nathan and Kate introduced John and Brenna and were the officiants of the ceremony!  They are great people.

After all the craziness of planning a wedding, I think these are the moments you wait for — because at that point nothing else matters except the two of you.

This wedding was very special for Jake and me because two years ago we were married at Camrose Hill Flower Farm. To come back and photography a wedding there was seriously such a treat. It was so fun to see everything through the lens of my camera and really experience what Camrose Hill is all about. At moments it felt like a dream where the colors and light were just perfect. It was really amazing.

The Camrose Hill spirits worked their magic again — because just minutes before the ceremony (with all the chairs set up inside the pavilion), the rain stopped and the light was perfect. After a mad dash to move all the chairs and guests outside, Kristin and Luke got what they wanted, a Camrose Hill outdoor wedding! We were so happy for them.

Kristin and Luke are one of those couples you just know are meant to be because they truly compliment one another. Jake and I walked away at the end of night saying we want to be their friends in real life!
