Mankato, Minnesota – Ben & Becky’s Wedding, My Family!

Just a few short weeks ago my brother-in-law and (now) sister-in-law, Ben and Becky, were married at Minneopa State Park in Mankato. The entire weekend was a huge celebration and seriously so much fun. Jake was the best man and Jake’s sister, Katie and I were both bridesmaids. I absolutely loved being in the wedding, helping Becky get into her wedding dress, watching and feeling the anticipation before their First Look, experiencing the wedding party and family portraits, walking in and witnessing their beautiful ceremony, driving them to the reception in my parents decked out Just Married mini-van :), and then celebrating with all our family and friends that night! It was an honor and I was so happy to support Ben and Becky.

Their photographer Sally, of Gruman Photography did a terrific job and captured the day beautifully. It was such a pleasure to be on the other side of the camera and see a photographer in action – you did such a great job, Sally!

I didn’t plan on taking many photos throughout the day, but I was able to capture Becky at the salon getting her hair and make-up done and of course, a few candids later on, and then some late night dance photos at the Kato Ballroom. I really enjoyed taking some videos (which I never get to do at weddings)! Ben and Becky really enjoyed watching them the next day! Jake’s best man toast because was so good (hilarious and heartfelt) and when Ben speaks right after, it will just warm your heart. So sincere, so thoughtful, and so lovely. I am so proud of my entire family, they are the BEST.

Congratulations to Ben and Becky, I love you both so much!

Mankato, Minnesota – Blair & Ben’s Wedding

Wow! These are some of my most favorite portraits — I absolutely love them! I mean – look at Blair!! She was drop-dead gorgeous in every shot and I am totally in awe of her natural beauty. She was comfortable and relaxed which made it so easy (and fun!) for me all day.

I knew I was in for a treat when we pulled up to Blair’s father’s farm. It was perfect and full of character. Blair surprised me when she decided to get dressed outside! I love how she came out in her Dad’s dress shirt – so fun. Blair was such a beautiful bride but don’t let Ben go unnoticed — he was so handsome in just as many shots.

Blair and Ben are truly in love, and were so excited to get married. They had a whirlwind romance and knew right away that this was forever. The three of us had a blast wandering around the farm – the time flew, and even though it was insanely hot and the mosquitoes were out in full force, you wouldn’t know it looking at these two. They were incredible.

I’ve known Blair for a very long time and she is honestly one of the most genuine, kind, and loving people I’ve ever met. Ben is a lucky man (and I think he knows it). It was such a pleasure Blair and Ben — many congratulations to you!

Mankato Family Portrait – The Donohoes

The Donohoes are one of my most favorite families ever – and it’s not just because they are all soooo good looking (Hello! Look at them — can you get anymore gorgeous?)! They are the kind of family everyone wants to be a part of – always having fun, incredibly smart, ridiculously funny, but most of all, just down to earth, kind, and generous people. I always have the best time when I see them and leave hoping they’ll invite me back for their next family get together (I don’t want to miss out on all the action)!!

Poor Farm Studios – Wyatt & Family

A few weeks ago I headed down to Mankato for a super fun family photo shoot with Anna, Jason, and 2 year old Wyatt. We met at Anna’s parents home, the Poor Farm, and just explored the gardens (I wish I could have all my photo shoots at the Poor Farm – inside and outside, it is incredible)!

The Frinks are great family friends and it was such a pleasure to capture Wyatt is this exploratory age – he was always moving, but in those brief moments of stillness, I could tell what a sweet boy he was. And wow, those baby blue eyes were intoxicating! Such a lovely family, thanks Anna, Jason, and Wyatt for letting me spend the afternoon with you!

Becker Family

What a beautiful family! Amber and Bob are high school sweethearts and grew up with Jake and me in Mankato – we have been good friends for a long time. Their two boys, Charlie and Wesley, are so handsome and have such distinct personalities. They were such great sports on a very humid photo shoot! Little Kate was a such a cutie with a hundred different facial expressions and is so loved by her two big brothers. She is a lucky girl!

Frost-Trahan & Lange Family

A photo shoot with six kids under the age of five is what you would call crazy (in a good way)! There were some tears, but mostly laughs, and even some small candy bribes. Whatever works to have everyone looking at the camera, at the same time, with a smile on their face, right?! The kids were adorable and I had such a great time with the Frost-Trahan & Lange families – here are some of my favorite photos.
