Another place in Minneapolis I had never been was Mill Ruins Park — I know, I know, I need to get out more! :) Wandering around the ruins was great. The colors, textures, and light were so pretty. Thanks for getting me out of St. Paul and into the great city of Minneapolis, Emily and Reed!

Amy and George are such a sweet couple – possibly just as sweet as their amazing dessert table! I was blown away with the attention to detail. They thought of everything from popcorn, to Peanut M&M’s, to Milano cookies! Yum! In addition to the table full of treats, each guest had an individually boxed cupcake from Wuollet’s waiting for them at their seat. The reception was in the Great Hall at Silverwood Park in St. Anthony. Such a beautiful spot, especially the outdoor area with the stone fireplace. Guests were able to enjoy the patio during the social hour and the fireplace made it feel very cozy.

Beautiful weather, gorgeous ceremony, delicious food and desserts, along with a great dance – a recipe for a wonderful wedding! Congratulations Amy and George!

Not originally from Minnesota, Kate and Garnet have called Minneapolis home for the past few years as they each get their doctorate at the University of Minnesota. They wanted the city to be a part of their wedding celebration, and the Walker Art Center was the perfect backdrop. It became a consistent visual thread throughout the wedding design. My good friend Tia Salmela Keobounpheng of Silvercocoon, worked with the couple and family on the design concept and I thought everything turned out beautifully. The majority of the wedding guests were coming to Minnesota from the coasts, so the wedding invitations were designed to give a first glimpse of Minneapolis. Once friends and family returned home, the city-wrap would be a reminder of their weekend with Kate and Garnet.

Everything about the wedding was simple, classic, and modern, and the Walker Art Center is stunning inside and out. It was a pleasure to be in that space. The silhouette of the Walker was carried throughout each part of the printed materials from the welcoming package for hotel guests, to the program, and the menu. I love that attention to detail.

The flowers by Flora Bella were amazing as well – I absolutely love peonies, a classic choice. Kate’s bridal bouquet was full of soft blush colored peonies paired with a cluster of green dianthus. The reception centerpieces reflected that concept. Simple, modern, and so cool!

Congratulations Kate and Garnet! It was a true pleasure and honor for us to spend the day with you both!

And it is moments like these that make me love my job so much — literally brings tears to my eyes.

Finnley’s parents, Ron and Kris wanted me to capture their family interacting and hanging out — but with cooler industrial looking backdrops! We headed over to The Soap Factory, St. Anthony Main, and Old Mill area where there were so many great spots, we had fun exploring and I am really happy with the results. Finnley is such a sweet little girl, and is a natural in front of the camera. Ron and Kris are a creative couple and were up for anything, which I love! It was a pleasure getting to know them and capturing the tender moments of life with a three year old!

I have been thinking more and more about how crazy my job is — swooping in for these intense life experiences and then swooping out at the end of the night. Spending intimate hours with these couples, their friends and families is truly an honor. I really mean it. At the end of the day I leave feeling so FULL — then I go home and life goes on. I get back to work and get ready for the next job. A few days after Antonia and John’s wedding I received a thank you call from Antonia! I was so touched that she was thinking of me and I really appreciated her call — more than she probably knows.

An absolutely beautiful relationship shows through in their portraits together– Antonia and John look amazing. Their family and friends traveled from all over the country to help them celebrate their marriage at the Women’s Club of Minneapolis. It was honestly my pleasure to spend the day with them. Congratulations!

Don’t you just love Louise’s dress?! It was seriously amazing and when the breeze hit it just right — it looked like water in the wind. So pretty. Her shoes, jewelry, and style were just as perfect.

The reception floral arrangements were done by a friend of the bride and were absolutely stunning. Real raspberries were tucked in with the arrangements. Louise had fun with some DIY details, such as the table markers, place cards, and wedding favors. Guests had a blast with their table “crackers” – which were full of toy mustaches, crowns, and candy. At one point almost every guest had on a mustache and paper crown – it was hilarious!

It was such a pleasure John and Louise – Congratulations again!

I couldn’t believe how beautiful Maggie’s green eyes matched the wall – I did a little happy dance behind the camera!  I am sorta in love with these next few shots. I think Maggie looks absolutely radient.
